Hair Fall & Scalp Care

Talapothichil scalp packs, Siro Abhyanga and cooling dharas: classical scalp nourishment for hair under modern stress.

Hair in this region works hard: desalinated water, air conditioning, sun, styling heat and the background hum of stress all show up at the brush. Hair fall is one of the most frequent concerns raised at our assessments, usually after months of shampoos and serums that promised more than they delivered.

Ayurveda approaches hair through the scalp and the system behind it. Its therapies nourish the scalp directly while addressing the sleep, stress and digestive patterns that classical practice links to hair health.

Why Ayurveda starts at the scalp, not the strand

Classical texts treat hair as an outgrowth of bone tissue nourishment and read excessive fall through Pitta heat rising to the scalp, aggravated by stress, late nights and sharp, acidic food. A hot, tight, flaky scalp is the visible sign.

The traditional response cools and nourishes the scalp while settling the system: medicated oils matched to constitution, cooling herb packs, and rhythm restored to sleep and meals.

Scalp therapies in the plan

Talapothichil is the centrepiece: a cooling medicated herbal paste applied as a full scalp pack, traditionally used for scalp health and hair nourishment. Siro Abhyanga, the classical head massage with warm medicated oil, feeds the scalp and releases the tension that so often accompanies hair concerns. Takradhara streams cooling medicated buttermilk over the forehead for heat-dominant pictures, and Shirodhara supports the sleep side of the equation.

Plans usually pair scalp work with practical guidance on washing, oiling and diet. Where hair fall follows a hormonal or thyroid pattern, we say so and involve the homeopathic consultation rather than overpromising from the therapy table.

A note on homeopathy

Hair loss with a hormonal signature, postpartum patterns or thyroid involvement is a core area of our homeopathy practice; a detailed consultation maps the history before any remedy is chosen, alongside your doctor's care where relevant.

Important to know

22 Ayur is a wellness clinic, not a hospital. Our therapies offer traditional, supportive care; they do not diagnose, cure or replace medical treatment, and we will always encourage you to see a medical doctor for diagnosed conditions, severe symptoms or anything sudden and unexplained. Every plan starts with an assessment, and our practitioners will tell you plainly what our care can and cannot do for your situation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will these therapies regrow my hair?

We will not promise regrowth; no honest clinic can. What the therapies offer is traditional scalp nourishment and care for the stress and sleep patterns that feed hair fall. Many guests report their hair feeling stronger and calmer over a course; sudden or patchy loss should be seen by a dermatologist first.

What does Talapothichil involve?

A cooling paste of medicated herbs is prepared fresh and applied over the entire scalp, then left to work while you rest. It is deeply calming; guests often describe the sensation as the scalp exhaling.

How often should I oil my hair?

It depends on your scalp type, which the assessment identifies. As general guidance, regular gentle oiling with the right oil for your constitution supports the scalp; aggressive daily washing with hot water works against it.
