Hijama (Cupping Therapy)

Traditional Hijama cupping therapy for pain relief, detoxification, and wellness.

Hijama at 22 Ayur is performed by an experienced female practitioner in a private treatment room at our Jumeirah clinic. We offer both wet cupping, the classical Sunnah method using controlled suction and small superficial incisions, and dry cupping, a gentler alternative with no incisions. Every session uses sterile, single-use cups and blades under strict hygiene protocols.

Wet or dry cupping: which one is right for you?

Wet cupping (Hijama) follows the traditional method: suction is applied at specific points, followed by tiny surface incisions that draw out a small quantity of stagnant blood. It is the form described in Prophetic medicine and is traditionally sought for chronic pain, migraines and general detox. Dry cupping uses suction only. With no incisions involved, it is a comfortable entry point if you are new to cupping and a popular choice for muscle tension, stiffness and sports recovery. If you are unsure, message us on WhatsApp and the practitioner will advise which approach suits your case.

Hygiene and safety

All cups and blades are sterile and single-use. The practitioner wears gloves throughout, the treatment area is disinfected before and after every session, and you leave with clear aftercare guidance. Mild circular marks are normal after cupping and typically fade within three to seven days.

Sunnah days

Traditional practice recommends Hijama on the 17th, 19th and 21st of each Islamic lunar month, and these dates fill up quickly, so book a few days ahead. Hijama can also be performed on any other day of the month for general wellness or when a specific concern needs attention.

A female practitioner, in a private room

Hijama at 22 Ayur is always performed by a female practitioner, with sessions held in a private treatment room. Many of our guests choose us specifically for ladies Hijama in Dubai, and the service is built around that comfort and privacy.
